I’ve been going a little stir crazy since I can’t get out much with all this snow, so I decided to work on a writing project outside of the house at Neapolitan Express. Neapolitan is a food truck pizza compan, which, opened a sit down location at 111th btwn 2nd and 3rd Ave in East Harlem.

I ordered the Margarita pizza and a Coke (the only drink on the menu is Coke or water). The Coke came in a large glass bottle, a nice novelty. The style of pizza is thin crust and they are served in personal sizes (so each person should order 1 pizza). My pizza was quite good. I enjoyed the fresh basil combined with the high quality cheese they used. I did feel the crust could have been a little more crisp, but otherwise it was perfect. I also noticed on the menu they will replace the cheese with vegan cheese, making this a vegan friendly pizza restaurant.

The total for my personal pizza, which, was the equivalent of about two NYC slices was $8.00, and my Coke was $2.00, $10 for a pizza and a soda is a little pricey. However, I also went here to get out of the house and do some writing and organizing for a project. It was a good environment for this. There were not a lot of people in the restaurant and the staff kind of left me alone after I finished my pizza.

Overall, I like this place and will probably go back for a similar night of writing and eating pizza.

Pros: Good pizza, vegan friendly, organic ingredients
Cons: $$$$, only serve Coke (although its in a glass bottle so I”m not sure if that qualifies as a con), but it would be nice if they served wine or if it was byow.
