Textures of NYC is a project intended to take a snapshot of the most visually prominent textures seen in everyday life in Manhattan.  The second installation in the series is a tree stump on far side of the Harlem Meer, Central Park NYC, near entrance at 108th and Madison.  Below is the technique used on this surface.

1. Selected above surface b/c it would translate well to chosen ‘reverse grave stone rubbing’ medium.

3.  Prior to coloring on tree stump clean using duster to remove any debris that would interfere with coloring/rubbing technique.

4. Applied a base color of yellow and pink.

5. Applied complimentary colors blue and green on top of yellow and pink base.
